A keeper
I took this book at face value. I enjoyed being able to see the events unfold from the first book from Malachi's point of view and also have a continuation and ending.
The change in the narrator for Malachi ended up working. While Joe Arden did an amazing job with Little Stranger presenting Malachi's unhinged side. It worked beautifully during the one later scene (I'm not spoiling it) of that novel.
This story, with Grayson Owens narriating Malachi, worked well in the sense that now we are seeing events unfold from Malachi's point of view. He is not so much as unhinged as presented in the first novel, but someone who struggles with his past, diagnosis and the way he perceives the world. To me, both worked for different reasons.

Great new voice for Malachi
Unfortunately I didn't like to listen to book 1 with malachi POV again. Would have prefered just to start off where we left off with book one. Second part of book really good. New voice is great!!

Narrators were amazing!!
Story wise I wish there was less part 1 and more part 2. Performance wise I was fully entertained!
